Honeymoon

Our honeymoon trip will be a cycling tour of Glacier National Park in Montana. We will be traveling with the company Backroads a company that specializes in active vacation tours.

We start out in Whitefish, Montana on Monday, August 13th and will spend six days biking through the park spending our nights at a variety of inns. Since it is a Honeymoon after all, we chose a trip that is fully supported. They will be transporting all of our gear from inn to inn so we can just relax and ride. Each day we have some choices of different length rides. We have decided to set the bar high and go for the longest rides each day. There will be lots of training rides this spring and summer to get ready. Here is a brief itinerary for the trip.

The night before the trip officially starts we will be staying at the Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish, Montana.

Day 1 32 Miles Astonishing alpine scenery that just won’t quit Pedal a scenic route along the shore of Lake McDonald, formed by retreating glaciers ten thousand years ago Cool off with a dip in the chilly lake – if you’re feeling brave!

Day 6 Raft down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River with expert guides who provide a unique perspective on the flora and fauna along the way.

This will be an exciting adventure for us. The most popular question people have asked us is, “Will you bring your own bikes?” the answer – ABSOLUTELY! We both love our road bikes and can’t imagine going on such a trip with anything else.

We are feeling a little guilty about showing so much love to the road bikes and leaving the mountain bikes at home. We don’t want to cause any jealousy between team Scott and team Santa Cruz. We even talked about trying to add a few days of mountain biking in there on one end or the other. We shall see.
